I am saving boxes; cereal boxes, cracker boxes, soap and toothpaste boxes!
And toilet paper rolls to make crowns and other fun things too.
Love yourself to heal yourself
This one was an allergy pill box. I am going through these regularly this year!
I'm beautiful like me and you are beautiful like you!
And know you are wise...
I love your colorful collages! I have shared on Pinterest.

ReplyDeleteI painted some owls and it was such fun. Thank you for sharing your talent! Is there a tutorial on how you did the repurposed boxes? I'd like to make them for my kids.
ReplyDeleteHi Jane. Thank you for your comment. I'm glad you enjoyed painting the owls. They are some of my very favorite things to paint! I haven't done an actual tutorial for "my" mixed-media collage boxes. (I will one of these days) However, here is a link to a similar project that I did with my preschool art class. It will give you an idea of how to prepare your boxes. I add a lot of torn tissue paper using Mod Podge, or something similar (I have a homemade recipe under Art/Craft Tutorials) - http://colormybliss.blogspot.com/p/tutorials.html and layer with paint. I then draw and paint my figures and such on separate paper and cut them out and then glue them on top of the torn tissue, paint, etc... You can just get creative and do it however you want, even cutting things out of magazines. Stamping makes a nice effect, as well. Hope this helps, Jane!
