Somehow the killing of a giant spider,
all alone by himself in the dark
without the help of a wizard
or the dwarves or anyone else,
made a great difference to Mr. Baggins.
He felt a different person,
and much fiercer and bolder
in spite of an empty stomach
as he wiped his sword on the grass
and put it back into its sheath.
~The Hobbit, J.R. Tolkien
Spiders really do give me the creeps! This is actually a photo of a Hobo Spider hanging out by my front door the other night. My daughter and I found him and another like him! Yuck! I love most creatures and can handle snakes and mice and more, but spiders.... well, I am working on it. (as long as they are little and maybe colorful or have some redeeming feature like eating the mosquitoes) But, big ole' nasty Hobos just send me!!!!
So, to deal with my "issue" in a creative way, I decided to get creative with this spider. (after I squished him, of course!)I am kind of sorry I squished him, not because I wish he was still hanging out by my front door, but because I feel bad squishing any creature. I am an avid animal lover. See my dillema?
I popped over to PicMonkey, one of my favorite free photo editing sites and turned my scary, boring spider photo from this:
into this cooler, creative, scary spider!
This is SO cool! No, not the spider, but what you did with him. Went to picmonkey and now I'm hooked. Yay for creativity!
