Welcome To My Colorful World!

Welcome to my colorful world. I am a happy (most of the time!) wife, mom, MeMaw, artist, and art teacher. I am a follower of Jesus Christ. I also love to create, cook, nest, decorate, entertain family and friends, laugh, collect vintage stuff, snuggle my cats and dog, play outdoors, and so much more! In addition to all this, I also publish an online magazine with my dear friend, called Mermaids of the Lake. Oh, and I love a big cup of coffee with cream, a dry martini, red wine, blingy jewelry, pink lipstick, blue fingernail polish. I love color! Beautiful colors inspire, motivate, and move me!!! What's my favorite color? I can't choose. I love them all! Yellow, pink, red, turquoise, blue, purple, orange, green and every variation in between!

Colorful Quotes: Being POSITIVE in a Negative World

Even though it's so easy to be negative in the world today,
take a challenge and be POSITIVE. Maybe you'll lead the way.
~Paul Sevillano

I was thinking recently about all the horrible sadness and tragedy in our world today. There is too much of it and it does make being positive a challenge.

I am not one of those brooding artists that creates better when I am blue or depressed. I am definitely just the opposite. Creating for me is about expressing JOY and HAPPINESS, LIGHT and LOVE. When I am feeling sad for myself or others I tend to shut down my creativity and go to a quiet place of suffering, which always leads me to prayer and my personal relationship with God. HE then restores my JOY, HAPPINESS, LIGHT, and LOVE. I have far too much empathy to ignore human suffering, loss, and sadness, but giving more energy to it creates more of it; especially when it is something I cannot personally change or help with. God is the LIGHT. I choose to focus on the LIGHT.

I came across this quote today by Paul Sevillano and knew I needed to create this Colorful Quote. It is just how I feel about the subject of being positive while living in a world with so much negativity. I accept his challenge!
