I Enjoy Being a Girl

I love this old song and found myself humming it today. Actually, I was looking for something to name a feminine board on my Pinterest (come follow me there) and decided on I Enjoy Being a Girl. I looked up the lyrics and the history. Fun to know! Certainly not the kind of woman I am or anyone is today, but the song is fun and reminiscent of the era it was written in. Except for the title: I do enjoy being a girl!

The song, I Enjoy Being a Girl was originally from the 1961 movie, Flower Drum Song, starring Nancy Kwan. (click on the link to watch the video) Although Kwan played a young Chinese woman, (Linda Low) singing this song, the vocals were actually performed by B.J. Baker.

Peggy Lee (click on link to watch the video) made the song again famous in her album titled, Latin Ala Lee.
