Welcome To My Colorful World!

Welcome to my colorful world. I am a happy (most of the time!) wife, mom, MeMaw, artist, and art teacher. I am a follower of Jesus Christ. I also love to create, cook, nest, decorate, entertain family and friends, laugh, collect vintage stuff, snuggle my cats and dog, play outdoors, and so much more! In addition to all this, I also publish an online magazine with my dear friend, called Mermaids of the Lake. Oh, and I love a big cup of coffee with cream, a dry martini, red wine, blingy jewelry, pink lipstick, blue fingernail polish. I love color! Beautiful colors inspire, motivate, and move me!!! What's my favorite color? I can't choose. I love them all! Yellow, pink, red, turquoise, blue, purple, orange, green and every variation in between!

America, America... Happy July 4th!

All of my favorite patriotic songs have been running through my head this morning. As I made a post for the for my online magazine, (Mermaids of the Lake) that I share with my BFF, Shelley, I was humming, "My Country 'Tis of Thee" (See the post and Lyrics)

Certain lyrics are more relevant to me than others-

Sweet land of liberty - of thee I sing...
Let freedom ring...

Land that I love...
The land of the free and the home of the brave...
I won't forget the men who died, who gave that right to me

I love the Lee Greenwood song, God Bless the USA, and although I am - proud to be an American, for me, better lyrics would be - I'm grateful to be an American, where at least I know I'm free...

I am truly grateful to live in this beautiful country, where with all of its problems and faults, at least I know I'm free... to be whomever I desire to be, to worship God freely, to have opinions that can be expressed. Freedom is the most basic of human rights and I am grateful for all of those who have fought to make this land that I love free because we all know - Freedom isn't Free!
